"I don't need your help." No matter how many times someone says those words to me, I am still taken aback.
I am a fixer by nature, so when a situation arises, I immediately go into problem solver mode. This is fine at work with my colleauges and even at home with my kids. I listen, ask questions and come up with solutions that are often a perfect fix. Most people walk away thankful for my advice, but there is one person that never even considers it. God.
You see, I have a bad habit of letting my "fixer by nature attitude" come out in situations that God already has a plan for. I pray about it and have the best intentions to leave it in His hands, until it takes too long to see results. You see, along with my own "fix it" plan, I also have a timeline. But the fact of the matter is, God does not need my help.
Not only does God not need my help, when I try to take matters into my own hands, I mess things up altogether and have to wait even longer for the answer. I've tried to "help God out" in all kinds of situations: family, love, career, finances - the list goes on and on. Trust me when I tell you that His plan is always better than yours. So, sit back and wait for God. He doesn't need your help.
